My Baby is Awesome:another bragging parent

Baby Love
Parents are always bragging about their baby and what that baby can do. I will admit I used to become aggravated when surrounded by bragging parents. Now that I am a parent, I get it. The bragging is a form of awkward parent communication. Some parents are bound to the house for long periods of time caring for their bundle of joy and they have nothing else to talk about. I think parents are genetically preprogrammed to believe their baby is the best. However after being involved in a “brag session” myself at our church event with a couple of other new parents, I see where my daughter is slightly advanced in her development. This is not another moment of mommy bragging; according to her early school evaluation, she is two months ahead in development.

My Baby Is AWESOME! This fact had become fogged over by my sleepless nights, scream sessions of inconsolability (baby not mommy, but I have come close), frazzled concerns of am I doing this right and appointments so many appointments.

Here comes the brag session of the top 10 reasons My Baby Is Awesome!
  1. My baby is always happy to see me, even during a phase 10 total meltdown session.
  2. My baby always laughs at my funny faces even after the 20th time.
  3. My baby gives the best hugs. Nothing compares to the warm heart melting feeling I experience when her little arms wrap around my neck, smushes her face against mine and giggles.
  4. My baby gives unlimited cuddle time anytime anywhere and she does not care who sees.
  5. My baby has no requirements. I can be wearing two-day-old pjs, uncombed hair and half-awake, she still needs me.
  6. My baby and I have incredible adventures without leaving the house. Everything is an adventure to her from crawling through a maze of toys to finding her reflection in a mirror.
  7. My baby loved everybody. If you have a smile, she is your friend.
  8. My baby has great determination. She sees something she wants she does not stop until it is hers. Have you ever tried to keep a baby off the entertainment center?
  9. My baby is a lifetime gift. The gift of love, happiness, tears, stress, and fear all while experiencing her growing and finding who she will be.
  10. My baby is proof that all things are possible. I struggled for 16 years to have children. Specialists told me I would never be able to carry a baby. I suffered through 13 miscarriages and a stillbirth. I spent 8 months in bed, a surgery and 3 weeks in the hospital to have my daughter born into my life.
There are days when three pots of extremely strong coffee does not touch my exhaustion, I smell like a spoiled formula scented trash can, I have not gone to the bathroom for over 12 hours and I want to curl into the fetal position while crying away my uncertainty of motherhood. Yup, I have those days every now and again and I know there will be more to come, however the most important fact remains….

My baby girl is AWESOME and I cannot believe she is mine!

  3. Amazing post. I think parents should brag more about their kids, and we should all respect each other for doing so. ; ) When else are we going to be able to brag? Surely not about ourselves!

You seem like such a strong person for going through what you have been through! Your daughter sounds like an absolute dream. : ) Thank you so much for linking up with #StayClassy!
